Mario Maresca was an Italian painter born on August 5, 1877, in Naples, Italy. He is best known for his realist paintings and portraits of everyday people in Italy. Maresca studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, where he honed his skills in painting, drawing, and sculpture. He then went on to study at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, where he was exposed to a wider range of styles and techniques. He was particularly influenced by the works of Caravaggio and the Baroque painters. Maresca’s paintings often depict ordinary people going about their daily lives, such as street vendors, musicians, and farmers.
