An Original 1st State Lifetime print published by William Hogarth. This means it is the first ever version of this etching and engraving that William Hogarth himself published in 1735 or shortly later and was printed on William Hogarth’s press at his London home

Printed on thin paper, trimmed and laid to backing board. Has a 1.5 cm tear at the top, between the arch and fowl picture, and an abrasion line to lower right corner. Only minor blemishes and slight discoloration. Pretty good for it’s age, nearly 300 years old. The old backing board (probably added late 19th C) will be cropped using a mount cutter before dispatch to meet shipping dimensions
